Q&A

What divisions is this tournament for? The Shanahan International Ice Hockey Tournament is a "AAA" tournament for '01, '00, '99 and '98 teams.

How many games are we guaranteed? Teams in each division are guaranteed four (4) games to a maximum of seven (7)

How long are the periods of each game?  Each game is comprised of 3 x 15min stop time periods.

What arenas will we play at?  Westwood Arena and Chesswood Arena.

When does registration close? Registration closes September 15th or when divisions fill.

What is the registration cost? $1175

Should our team register early? Last year's tournament sold out by mid-August so if you would like to hold a spot we suggest you do so with a small down payment  of just $100 with the balance due by September 15th, 2010

How will we know if you received our down payment and a spot is being held for us? On the day we receive your down payment an email will be sent indicating receipt of payment and that a spot is being held for your team.

What is your refund policy? Any team that is not accepted into the tournament will be refunded in full.  No refunds will be issued after September 1, 2010

When does my team have to be ready to play?  All teams must be ready to play their first game  Friday morning at 8am however we will do our best to schedule later games for all teams traveling longer than 60mins - however this may not always be possible.

What is the tournament format?  Each division will have a maximum for 30 teams divided into groups of 5.  Teams will play one game against each team in their own division to complete the round robin play.  The six first place teams plus two wild card teams will advance to the semi-finals.

What hotels can we book with? Teams that require a hotel are expected to stay at our tournament sponsor hotels.  These hotels are within minutes of our rinks, restaurants and area attractions and may be found by clicking the HOTEL link of this website.

When will the schedule be out?  The schedule will be released on or about October 15th, 2010.

What are the tournament rules?  All OHF rules are in effect, plus all specific GTHL rules.
